A powerful antioxidant recently Resveratrol has been shown to have 17 times greater antioxidant activity, than idebenone another popular antioxidant. While older studies suggest resveratrol may have environmental protection capabilities that idebenone does not have and that these appear to work from within cells.

Coenzyme Q10

CoQ10 is an antioxidant. It helps neutralize harmful free radicals, which are one of the causes of aging. Various factors, such as aging, stress and some medications, can lower the levels of CoQ10 in the body.

Skin lacking in CoQ10 may be more prone to the damage by free radicals, particularly in the skin since it is exposed to the elements. CoQ10 may boost skin repair and regeneration and reduce free radical damage. CoQ10 is a small molecule that can relatively easily penetrate into skin cells.

Retinol
